Goodwin & Chaffin Named NWC Men’s Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week

HILLSBORO, Ore. - The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in men’s track and field for the week of March 28th to April 3rd.
 
Men’s Track Student-Athlete of the Week
Hezekiah Goodwin | Pacific Lutheran | SR | Distance | Sacramento, CA | Kentlake
Was runner-up in the 800-meters at the CSUN Invite, finishing as the top non-D1 competitor in the race. Goodwin finished ahead of competitors from D1, D2, in addition to open athletes. His time is the 6th fastest 800 time in D3 this season and the fastest 800 time in the NWC. Goodwin was also on the Lutes' 4x4 relay team that finished third.
 
Men’s Field Student-Athlete of the Week
Darius Chaffin | Pacific Lutheran | FR | Javelin | Kalihi, HI | W.R. Farrington         
Chaffin blew away the field in the javelin, winning the event with a throw of 181' 8", topping the runner-up from Division I USC by 33 feet at the CSUN Invite. Chaffin additionally was the top collegiate finisher in the 110-meter hurdles, clocking a time of 15.27. Chaffin owns the third best throw in D3 this season and the top throw in D3 and owns the third best 110 time in the NWC.
