Men’s Track Student-Athlete of the Week
Hezekiah Goodwin | Pacific Lutheran | SR | Distance | Sacramento, CA | Kentlake
Goodwin won his third race in as many weeks, winning the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:25.22 at the Westmont Classic in Santa Barbara, California. Goodwin's time is the fastest in the NWC this season and ranks sixth nationally.
Men’s Field Student-Athlete of the Week
Keaton Wood | Linfield | GR | Decathlon | Lake Oswego, OR | Lakeridge
Wood broke a 12-year-old school record in the men's decathlon at Friday's Jim Klein Multi-Events. He scored a Division III-leading 7,254 points, surpassing the previous program record of 7,125 points held by recent Linfield Athletics Hall of Fame inductee Josh Lovell. Wood placed second in the meet to the Okanagan Athletics Track Club's Rostam Turner (7,269 points), who was competing for a spot on the Canadian National Team. Wood's previous best point total was 6,612 points. He notched personal bests in the 110-meter hurdles (14.73 seconds), 100-meter dash (11.01 seconds), 400-meter dash (49.07), high jump (6 feet, 5 inches) and 1,500-meter run (4:38.32).
