The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Cross Country for the week of September 9th through September 14th.
Women’s Cross Country - Student-Athlete of the Week
Ria Gill I Pacific | GR | Delta, B.C. | Seaquam Secondary School
Competing in the 5K at the Ash Creek Invitational on Friday, Gill finished fifth in 18:15.6. Her time is the fastest 5k in the conference this season and the 4th fastest time in Pacific history. Her time is also the 10th fastest in DIII this season.
Men’s Cross Country - Student-Athlete of the Week
Quinn Higgins I Lewis & Clark | SR | Denver, Colo. | Denver East
Higgins placed fifth overall to lead all NCAA DIII competitors against a loaded field at the Ash Creek Collegiate Invitational. In a race with two NCAA DI and two NCAA DII squads, Higgins was the first runner to cross the line from someone other than host Western Oregon University (NCAA DII). Higgins posted a 6K PR time of 18:04.2 to place fifth overall and finished 27.4 seconds ahead of the next NCAA DIII runner. He helped Lewis & Clark place fifth overall and finish ahead of Linfield University and Pacific University.
