Eight NWC Programs Earn Points in 2025-26 LEARFIELD Directors' Cup Standings

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Eight member institutions of the Northwest Conference (NWC) earned points in the final 2025-26 LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings, announced June 9 by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA).

The LEARFIELD Directors' Cup, developed jointly by NACDA and USA Today, ranks NCAA institutions based on their performance in up to 18 sports at NCAA Championship events.

Whitworth University led all NWC programs, finishing 59th nationally with 324.75 points. The Pirates earned 50 points from a 17th-place finish in baseball, 64.5 points from a 12th-place finish in women's track & field, and 56 points from an 18th-place finish in men's track & field.

Whitman College followed in 103rd place with 200 points. The Blues were highlighted by 25 points from a 33rd-place finish in women's lacrosse and 50 points apiece from 17th-place finishes in both men's and women's tennis.

George Fox University placed 157th with 112 points, earning 58 points from an 18th-place finish in women's golf and 24 points from a 48th-place finish in women's track & field.

Just behind, Pacific University finished 195th with 79.50 points, including 32 points from a 37th-place finish in women's track & field. Linfield University followed closely in 198th place with 78 points, all earned from a fifth-place finish in softball.

University of Puget Sound landed in 213th place with 70 points, highlighted by a seventh-place finish in women's rowing.  Pacific Lutheran University finished 222nd with 62.50 points, including 37.5 points from a 33rd-place finish in softball.

Willamette University rounded out the NWC institutions in 258th place with 46.50 points, all earned through a 27th-place finish in men's golf.

On the national stage, Washington University in St. Louis became just the eighth different institution to claim the LEARFIELD Directors' Cup, capturing its first title with 1,266.50 points. Tufts University finished second with 1,252.50 points, while Johns Hopkins University placed third with 1,180 points.
