Whitman Claims 2026 NWC Women’s Tennis Tournament Title, Advance to NCAA Tournament

Walla Walla, Wash.– The top-seeded Whitman Blues secured the 2026 Northwest Conference Championship title, automatically qualifying them for a trip to the NCAA Division III Tennis Championships. The match took place on Whitman’s home court in Walla Walla, Washington on Sunday, April 19th– the Whitman women's fourth straight tournament and regular season championship. 

Whitman earned the first point of the match in a pair of thrilling wins on courts No. 2 and No. 1. No. 2 wrapped up first– Gloria Lau and Sascha Wells out-scoring their Whitworth opponents 6-1. Court No. 1 finished with a comeback win from Nana Vang and Renata Rosell, executing a 6-3 win. 

In singles play, Nana Vang dominated the No. 1 court, securing the first point in singles play & extending the lead for the Blues. Next point was won by Bailey Bell on No. 5, defeating her opponent in a straight set win. Earning the final point and securing victory for the Blues was Gloria Lau on court No. 6, claiming another straight set win.

The Blues will continue their season and represent the Northwest Conference at the NCAA Division III Tennis Championships, held in Chattanooga, Tennessee during late May. Full schedule details can be found on the NCAA website.
