2026 Northwest Conference Women's Tennis Tournament Preview

Walla Walla, Wash.– The 2026 Northwest Conference Women’s Tennis Championship is set to begin April 18th with semifinals, with the Championship matches set for 12pm on Sunday April 19th. The Championship is hosted by Whitman College at the Whitman Tennis Courts; all tournament scoring and information can be found on the Tournament Central Page. All matches will be available to livestream through FloCollege. The Northwest Conference Tournament Champions will automatically qualify for a trip to the Division III NCAA Tournament.

Saturday, April 18 (Semifinals)

Whitman Blues (16-5 overall, 14-0 NWC)

The number one-seeded Blues enter the tournament with three consecutive regular season and tournament titles. In their regular season series against semi-final opponent George Fox, they completed a 7-0 sweep in the first matchup, and went on to secure a competitive second series win (5-2). Sophomore Nana Vang will headline for Whitman on the No.1 singles court and on the No.1 Doubles court, paired with teammate Renata Rosell. Other Whitman players to watch include Sascha Wells, Gloria Lau, and Bailey Bell– all posting double digits in their singles records this season.

Whitworth Pirates (14-6 overall, 12-2 NWC)

The No. 2 seeded Whitworth Pirates enter the NWC Championship Tournament with just two losses in conference play. The Pirates only conference losses were dealt out in their series against Whitman; the Pirates remained unbeaten in their regular season matchups against both Lewis & Clark and George Fox. Headlining for the Pirates are 2025 NWC Rookie of the Year Faith Kert and Junior Paige Oliver. Oliver looks to lead the Pirates on the No.1 Singles court, while Kert regularly teams up with Clara Todd for the No.1 Doubles court.

Lewis & Clark River Otters (11-7 overall, 9-5 NWC)

Third-seeded Lewis & Clark enter the tournament with 9 conference wins at the conclusion of the regular season. The River Otters are led by senior No. 1 singles player Susanna Anand who finished with an 11-2 record against conference opponents. Teammate Emma Loucks typically joins Anand on the top doubles court. Lewis & Clark will take on Whitworth in their semi-final match on Saturday. In their series against George Fox, the River Otters split their series, winning their first matchup 4-3.

George Fox Bruins (10-9 overall, 8-6 NWC)

Rounding out the field, fourth-seeded George Fox enter the tournament with a 10-9 overall record and 8-6 record against conference opponents. The Bruins look to get past the top-seeded Whitman Blues in the first semi-final, held on Saturday. George Fox fell in two series sweeps In their regular season matchups against Whitman and Whitworth, but split their series with the Lewis & Clark River Otters– winning the second matchup 5-2. The Bruins are led by Riley Bobkiewicz from the No. 1 singles position and No.2 singles player Shanah Denham, who pair up on the No.1 Doubles court.
