Hillsboro, Ore. - The Whitman Blues have been voted the Northwest Conference frontrunner for the 2024 women’s tennis season, as voted on by NWC head coaches. The Blues achieved an 8-0 conference record in the 2023 season before winning the NWC Women’s Tennis Tournament. Whitman earned 48 points and 6 first place votes to take the top spot. Pacific (Ore.) ranks second in the poll with 39 points and two first place votes.
George Fox earned 35 points for third, followed closely by Linfield with 33 points. Lewis & Clark earned 28 points for fifth while Whitworth landed in sixth with 21 points. Puget Sound and Willamette tied for the final position in the poll with 10 points apiece.
Most teams return to play the weekend of February 10th. The NWC Tournament will take place April 20-21st at the #1 seed.
