Vianzon & Hose Named NWC Tennis Student-Athletes of the Week

The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Tennis for the week of March 3rd through March 9th. 

Women’s Tennis - Student-Athlete of the Week
Madi Vianzon I Lewis & Clark | SO | Santa Clarita, Calif. | Saugus

Vianzon went 4-0 and earned the match-deciding victory against Pacific University to help Lewis & Clark go 2-0 over the weekend. The sophomore notched a pair of wins at both sixth singles and third doubles. On Saturday, she teamed up with junior Charlotte Makoni for a 6-4 win at third doubles. In the final match of the day with the match tied 3-3, Vianzon scored a 6-0, 7-5 win at sixth singles to help Lewis & Clark snap a three-match losing streak to Pacific and earn their first win over Pacific in Forest Grove since 2019. The sophomore teamed up with Emma Loucks for a 6-1 win at third doubles against Linfield on Sunday. She added a dominant 6-1, 6-1 win at fifth singles against the Wildcats.

Men’s Tennis - Student-Athlete of the Week
Dawson Hose I Pacific | JR | Honolulu, Hawaii | Punahou School

In the absence of 3 starters, Dawson Hose stepped up to go 4-0 this weekend with big wins over Lewis & Clark and George Fox. On Saturday, Dawson partnered with Lucas Fuhrmann for the first time, to take down the River Otter’s Loucks/Sigurdsson 6-2 at No. 2 doubles. He followed that up with an impressive win at No. 3 singles over Kai Wills, 6-2, 7-6(4). The winning continued for Dawson on Sunday, where he partnered with Lucas once again at the 2 spot. This time the pair took down the Bruins’ Shoji/Cruz 6-4. Dawson’s impressive weekend concluded with a dominant win over an All-Conference player, Ikuho Ebisu, at the 3 singles positon. Dawson only dropped one game in the match for a final score of 6-0, 6-1.
