Denham & Sigurdsson Named NWC Tennis Student-Athletes of the Week

The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Tennis for the week of March 10th through March 16th.

Women’s Tennis - Student-Athlete of the Week

Denham played a pivotal role in the Bruins’ 5–2 victory versus Lewis & Clark on Saturday. The junior partnered with Riley Bobkiewicz to defeat the River Otters’ No. 1 doubles duo 6–1, contributing to the Fox’s doubles point. Denham also held down singles by taking down her opponent in two sets, 6–0, 6–0, becoming the only player of the day to sweep her opponent.

Men’s Tennis - Student-Athlete of the Week
Kaden Sigurdsson I Lewis & Clark | FR | Livermore, Calif. | Homeschooled

Sigurdsson went 2-0 for Lewis & Clark in their biggest win over George Fox University since 2017. The first year earned wins at number one singles and number two doubles in a matchup of the two teams tied for third in the conference standings. Sigurddson defeated NWC First Team honoree Zach Moore 6-3, 6-4 at first singles. He teamed up with Senior Spencer Loucks for a 7-6 (7-3) win at second doubles. The River Otters number two doubles pair also nearly earned a win on Friday against NCAA DI Portland State University in an exhibition match. The duo led the Vikings second doubles pair 5-4 (30-0) when Portland State clinched the doubles point and the match was abandoned.
