Women’s Tennis - Student-Athlete of the Week
Charlotte Makoni I Lewis & Clark | SO | East Palo Alto, Calif. | Menlo
Makoni went 3-0 in singles and added a win at number one doubles to help Lewis & Clark earn a pair of wins over SCIAC teams. On Friday, Makoni sparked a comeback win over Occidental College by earning a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win at number two singles in a 4-3 comeback win. She added a 6-3, 7-5 win at number one singles against Whittier and teamed up with senior Susanna Anand for a 7-5 win at first doubles. She capped off the weekend with a 6-2, 6-3 win at second singles against Chapman. Lewis & Clark started the season 3-0 for the first time since 2018 and Makoni's win at first singles on Saturday moved her to 5-0 all-time at number one singles.
Men’s Tennis - Student-Athlete of the Week
Niklas Jensen I Whitman | JR | Kolding, Denmark | International Business College
Jensen showed out strong and didn't drop a set this weekend. He won at #2 singles against Division I and defending Big Sky champion Montana 6-4, 7-5. In doubles he and Alexander Stage were at 5-5 when the doubles point was clinched and had been up 5-3. At Whitworth, Jensen won at No. 2 doubles 6-0, and No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-1.
