Puget Sound Loggers Claim Victory at 2025 NWC Rowing Championships

VANCOUVER, Wash.– For the second consecutive year, the Puget Sound Loggers take home the 2025 Women’s Rowing Northwest Conference Championship title. The Loggers Varsity 8+ made a standout performance to secure their first place position, rowing a time of 7:20.5 on Vancouver Lake earlier this morning. 

The Loggers 1V8+ crew finished just under 7 seconds ahead of the next NWC team, after getting off to a quick start and holding their lead after the half-way mark. The Puget Sound crew was led by seniors Madeline Johnson and Luci Reed and sophomore teammate Ellery Garcia– all of whom earned All-Conference First team honors. 

The Pacific Lutheran crew finished second in points and in the 1V8+ race, racing a time of 7:27.25. Pacific finished in third with a time of 7:47.93, followed by Lewis & Clark (7:52.1). 

In other races on the lake, the Lewis & Clark women’s 2V8+ boat outraced the competition in a time of 8:08.56, while the Pacific Lutheran Varsity 4+ boat claimed victory with a staggering 32 second margin (8:04.4). 

The Puget Sound Loggers will continue their season at the WIRA Championship, in Gold River, California, on April 26th.
