WALLA WALLA, Wash. — The top-seeded Whitman College Blues secured their third consecutive Northwest Conference (NWC) Women's Tennis Tournament championship on Saturday, April 19, with a commanding 4–1 victory over the second-seeded Pacific University Boxers. The match took place at the Whitman Tennis Courts, where the Blues leveraged home-court advantage to earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship.
Whitman established early dominance in doubles play. The No. 2 duo of Arianna Castellanos and Nana Vang delivered a flawless 6–0 win, while the No. 3 pair, Sascha Wells and Ilina Jha, secured a 6–1 victory, granting the Blues the doubles point. The No. 1 doubles match between Whitman’s Teleya Blunt and Jin Yu and Pacific’s Cassidy Binder and Chloe Takahashi went unfinished.
In singles competition, Whitman continued to assert control. Jin Yu extended the lead with a straight-sets win at No. 4 singles. Pacific's standout, Cassidy Binder, managed to capture the Boxers' sole point with a win at No. 1 singles.However, victories by Nana Vang at No. 3 and Ilina Jha at No. 2 singles clinched the match for the Blues.
This triumph marks Whitman's third straight NWC tournament title. The Blues now turn their attention to the national stage, preparing for the upcoming NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship.
