The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Tennis for the week of April 8th through April 14th.
Women’s Tennis - Student-Athlete of the Week
Cassidy Binder I Pacific | SR | Beaverton, Ore. | Beaverton
Binder finished undefeated at No. 1 singles with wins over the top players from Linfield and George Fox. Neither match was close. She topped Emma Tuttle 6-2, 6-0 on Saturday and then defeated Riley Bobkiewicz 6-0, 6-1 Sunday. Binder also won both days at 1 doubles to lead the Boxers past Linfield and George Fox.
Men’s Tennis - Student-Athlete of the Week
Lars Schmassmann I George Fox | GR | Basel, Switzerland | WMS Reinach
Schmassmann went a perfect 4-0 on the weekend against Willamette and Pacific. In doubles play, he won 7-5 against Willamette's No. 1 doubles and 6-3 against Pacific's No. 1 doubles (paired with Keita Shoji). In his singles matches, he was dominant in the No. 1 spot, winning 6-0, 6-0 against Aj Avansino (Willamette), and 6-3, 6-1 against Joshua Dela Cruz (Pacific).
