Women’s Tennis - Student-Athlete of the Week
Nana Vang I Whitman | FR | Eden Prairie, Minn. | The Blake School
Vang did not surrender a single game in her doubles and singles victories, helping the Blues to a 7-0 win over Linfield. Vang bested her opponent 6-0 at No. 2 doubles with teammate Sascha Wells, then blanked her opponent 6-0, 6-0 on the No. 3 singles court.
Men’s Tennis - Student-Athlete of the Week
Wade McDermott I Lewis & Clark | JR | Sante Fe, NM | St. Michael's
McDermott went 4-0 in singles and added two doubles wins (6-2 overall) during the Pioneers 3-1 opening weekend in Texas. The junior earned singles wins in straight sets in third, fourth and fifth singles and added a three-set win against #11 Trinity (Texas) at fifth singles (7-6 (9-7), 2-6, 1-0 (10-6). He teamed up with fellow junior Kai Wills to go 2-2 at number one doubles. The duo posted a pair of 6-4 wins and forced a tiebreaker against Trinity in a tight 7-6 (7-0) loss.
