The NCAA has announced the full field for the 2025 Division III Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships, and the Northwest Conference will again be represented through several standout individual qualifiers. While no NWC teams earned automatic or at-large bids this season, strong performances at the West Regional meet secured national berths for multiple conference athletes.
George Fox University led the way for the conference, with three Bruins advancing to the national championships. Emily Foote placed fourth in the women’s 6K, while teammate Hope Bridge finished 18th, both earning individual qualifying positions. On the men’s side, Caden Hildenbrand ran to a seventh-place finish in the 8K, adding a third national qualifier for the Bruins and continuing the program’s trend of postseason success.
The University of Puget Sound will also be represented after senior Cian Monaghan qualified with a sixth-place performance in the regional men’s race. Monaghan’s finish placed him comfortably among the top individuals not on an advancing team, securing his spot in the national lineup.
Whitworth University added another NWC runner to the men’s championship field, as senior London Haley earned his national berth by placing 10th at regionals. His performance contributed to a strong showing for the Pirates and added to the conference’s depth among top-20 male finishers.
Lewis & Clark College will send senior Malia Heien to the women’s championship after she finished 17th at the regional meet. Her result positioned her as one of the highest-ranked individual qualifiers in the women’s field and continued the Pioneers’ presence at the national level.
In total, the Northwest Conference will send six individual athletes to the NCAA Division III Championships, reflecting a strong year of individual performances across the league. The national meet will take place on Saturday, November 22 at Roger Milliken Cross Country Course at the Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
