Willamette Men Claim Victory at the 2025 NWC Fall Classic

Lake Oswego, Ore.– The 2025 Northwest Conference Fall Classic concluded late this Monday afternoon at the Lake Oswego Country Club, with the Willamette Bearcat Men finishing first and defending their 2024 Fall Classic title. 

As the first NWC event of the season, frontrunners emerged for the 2025-26 season with a tight race on the final day for the 2025 Fall Classic title. Day one presented the Willamette Bearcats with a lead of 4 strokes over number two Linfield. The Bearcats managed to maintain their lead on day two, finishing with a team score of 285+292 (577). The Whitman Blues finished as the runner-up with a team score of 290+296 (586), followed by the Linfield Wildcats with a third place score of 289+304 (593).

Pacific Lutheran placed fourth with a score of 291+303 (594), followed by Whitworth at fifth with a final score of 295+301 (596). Rounding out the final standings were George Fox (602), Lewis & Clark (606), Pacific (621), and Puget Sound (630). 

Individually, Mason Remington of Whitman surpassed his opponents with an impressive day two effort, finishing in the first place position with a final score of 71+69 (140). Brock Olson of Willamette was a close runner-up with a score of 68+73 (141), followed by Willamette’s Michael Baldwin at third place with a score of 71+72 (143).

The NWC Fall Classic marks the first of three conference tournaments that will determine the overall conference champion for the 2025-2026 season, and ultimately determine the automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Golf Tournament.
