Women’s Tennis- Student-Athlete of the Week
Riley Bobkiewicz I George Fox | FR | Star, Idaho | Eagle
Bobkiewicz went an impressive 4-0 in her matches. Winning in her two doubles matches and winning in her two singles matches. Against two tough teams in Lewis & Clark and Linfield. The team win against Linfield was the first-ever win for the team.
Men’s Tennis- Student-Athlete of the Week
Wade McDermott I Lewis & Clark | SO | Santa Fe, N.M. | St. Michael’s
McDermott went 3-1 on the weekend to lead Lewis & Clark men's tennis to a 1-1 start in NWC play. The sophomore paired up with freshman Joey Lyon to go 2-0 at number one doubles and he added a win at number five singles. On Saturday, McDermott and Lyon earned an 8-7 (7-2) win over George Fox University's top doubles pair to earn the Pioneers first point against the defending NWC Champions in their last five meetings. He came back on Sunday to earn a pair of wins in Lewis & Clark's 8-1 victory over Willamette. The Pioneers top doubles pair earned another tight win at first doubles, as they picked up an 8-7 (7-0) win over the Bearcats. In singles play, McDermott earned a 6-0, 6-0 dominant win at fifth singles.
