Blunt & Sutin Named NWC Tennis Student Athletes of the Week

HILLSBORO, Ore. - The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Tennis for the week of February 20th through February 26th.

 

Women’s Tennis- Student-Athlete of the Week
Teleya Blunt I Whitman | SO | La Crescenta, Calif. | Crescenta Valley

Blunt helped the Blues to a 1-1 non-conference road trip. Posted wins on the No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles courts in a 9-0 win over DePauw University…won her singles match in straight sets…on the tip opener at No. 15 Washington in St. Louis, she provided her team's lone win in straight sets 7-6 (4), 7-5 on the No. 1 court to close the match.

 

Men’s Tennis- Student-Athlete of the Week
Noah Sutin I Lewis & Clark | FR | San Antonio, Tex. | Alamo Heights

Sutin went a perfect 3-0 to lead Lewis & Clark to non-conference wins over Willamette University and Pacific University. The freshman went 2-0 at number two doubles and 1-0 at number one singles. On Friday night against the Bearcats, Sutin teamed up with sophomore Kai Wills for an 8-0 win at number two doubles. Sutin went 2-0 on Saturday to help lead Lewis & Clark to their first win over the Boxers since April 2018. He and Wills recorded an 8-5 victory at second doubles and then recorded a 6-4, 7-5 win at number one singles in the victory over the Boxers.
