Women’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week
Camilla Tarpey-Schwed I Whitman College | SR | Mill Valley, Calif. | Tamalpais
Tarpey-Schwed won in singles (6-1, 6-1) and doubles (8-1) to help Whitman to a 9-0 win over Willamette. Both wins were dominant, allowing only three total games won between both matches, both on the No. 1 courts.
Men’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week
Wilhelm Saiga I Linfield University | JR | Tiburon, Calif. I Laurel Springs
Junior Wilhelm Saiga has been a bright spot for the Linfield men since transferring from UC-Santa Barbara this spring. Coming in at No. 18 in the latest ITA Division III West Region singles rankings, Saiga led Linfield to an 8-1 win over Puget Sound at home on Sunday. He took No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-2, and teamed up with Nick Gabelman to win No. 1 doubles by a score of 8-4. Saiga is 7-1 in singles flights this season, all coming in the No. 1 spot for the Wildcats.
