Forester & Gonzalez Named NWC Tennis Student-Athletes of the Week

HILLSBORO, Ore. - The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Tennis for the week of February 20th through 27th.

 

Women’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week

Sarah Forester I Linfield University| JR | Corvallis, Ore. | Corvallis

Forester went 2-0 in singles and won both her doubles matches in a 2-0 week for Linfield in Southern California. In an 8-1 win at Whittier, she won No. 3 singles, 6-0, 7-6, and then paired up with teammate Alexis Garner to win No. 3 doubles at 8-6. In a 5-4 battle at Occidental, Forester won another No. 3 singles match by scores of 6-1, 6-4. She and Garner claimed another victory in No. 3 doubles at 8-5.



 

Men’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week

Quentin Gonzalez I Pacific University | SR | Orange, Calif.| Villa Park

Quentin Gonzalez continued the great start to his senior season after picking up two wins on the road over NWC tennis powerhouse, Lewis and Clark College. He partnered with Aidan Rooney for an 8-5 victory over the Pios’ Kristian Peev and Wade McDermott. He then went on to grab a 7-6, 7-5 win over a two time NWC All-Conference player, Kristian Peev. This weekend’s wins puts Quentin at a 7-1 this season.
