HILLSBORO, Ore. - The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in basketball for the week of January 9th to January 16th.
Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week
Olivia Mayer| Whitworth University| SO | Spokane, Wa.| Gonzaga Prep
Mayer posted her 12th and 13th double-doubles of the season, which leads the NWC and is tied for the lead in all of NCAA Division III. At Whitman she had 20 points and 10 rebounds. In a 57-45 comeback win over George Fox, she helped the Pirates rally from a 10-point, third quarter deficit with 12 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.
Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week
Jacob Bolger|Pacific University| SR | Portland, OR| Cleveland
Bolger had a tremendous weekend leading Pacific to two NWC wins with a Double-Double in each game. On Friday, Jacob had 26 points and 10 rebounds to beat Puget Sound. On Saturday at Willamette, Jacob had 21 points and 13 rebounds in the win. For the weekend he averaged 23.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, and shot an efficient 61% from the floor.
