Women’s Golf Student-Athlete of the Week
Alison Takamiya | George Fox | FR | Honolulu, HI | Punahou
Alison Takamiya earned medalist honors after shooting a second round of 69 for a tourney-record final score of 139 (-5). Per UCSC sports info, that is the best two-day score since the tournament moved to the Pacific Grove course.
Men’s Golf Student-Athlete of the Week
Austin Davis | Willamette | SR | Culver City, CA | Culver City
Davis won the individual title with a 147 for 36 holes at the West Region Showdown in Plano, Texas, on March 23-24, as Willamette claimed the team title against the University of Texas at Dallas and George Fox. Davis shot a 73 in the first round and a 74 in the second round. The 73 tied for the second-lowest round of the tournament. He won by one stroke over teammate Andrew Kibbee (148) while leading a 1-2-3-5-6 finish for the Bearcats. Willamette's winning team score was 595 (295-300). It was Davis' third individual win of 2021-22 along with the Linfield Fall Invitational and the NWC Fall Classic.
