Louisville, Ky. – Five Northwest Conference cross country student-athletes competed at the 2019 NCAA Cross Country Championships, hosted by Spalding University, on Saturday.
Whitworth’s Whitney Rich led the NWC pack, running to All-America honors with a fourt-place finsh in the women’s 6-kilometer race. The NWC Women’s Runner of the Year crossed the finish line in 21:23.6. Whitworth’s Becky George placed 65th overall with a 22:34.8 mark. Blues teammate Kristen Wanke ran to a 156th-place finish in 23:14.1.
Lewis & Clark’s Sean Richardson led the NWC for the men, placing 129th in 25:38.9. NWC Men’s Runner of the Year Colin Monaghan placed 200th overall, running to a 26:05.8 finish in the 8-kilometer race.
