WEEK OF NOV. 8-14
Offensive

Adam Anderson
Whitworth, Senior
Elk, Wash./Univ. of Idaho
Running Back
Anderson ran for six touchdowns to tie his own single game school record and passed for another score to account for a total of seven touchdowns in a single game. He averaged 11.2 yards per carry. On his 18th carry of the game he surpassed Whitworth’s career rushing yardage record and ends his Pirate career with 3,338 yards. He also extended his school touchdowns scored record to 55.

Linebacker
Isett led the Lutes in total tackles and in tackles for loss in PLU’s 24-21 win over Willamette. He finished the season as the team’s leading tackler. Isett also kicked a 31-yard field goal in the fourth quarter that turned out to be the game winning points.

Aaron Boehme

Boehme was responsible for five touchdowns (three rushing, two passing) as Linfield overcame its first halftime deficit of the season by outscoring Whitworth 28-0 in the second half. He threw no interceptions and had no fumbles in the game.

Defensive End
Hedin turned in a great all-around game with six tackles, including a sack (his 17th, one short of the Linfield single-season record), and a tackle for loss. He also recovered a fumble that set up a touchdown, deflected a pass at the line of scrimmage, and blocked a field goal attempt.

Place-kicker
Derby successfully kicked all nine extra points in Willamette’s 65-24 win over Lewis & Clark. The perfect afternoon of kicks allowed him to improve to 30 of 33 on extra points this season.

WEEK OF OCT. 25-31

Wide Receiver
Kniffin had over 100 yards receiving for the third consecutive game. He broke a school record for receptions in a season (70) and receiving TDs in a season (13). Kniffin has scored eight touchdowns in the last two weeks.

McFadden had a pair of interceptions this week against Lewis & Clark, one of which occurred in the end zone and thwarted a Pioneer drive as the Lutes held on to win 35-23.

A former running back and now a linebacker, Burbridge has been pressed into kick return service due to injuries. He had a long return of 73 yards and averaged 42 yards per kickoff return against the Pioneers in a 35-23 win for the Lutes.

The Loggers broke 13 school records on Saturday. White contributed by breaking the records for passing attempts in a game, passing yards in a game, passing TDs in a game, total offense in a game, and tied the record for TD passes in a season. He also helped the Loggers break several team records. White led the Loggers on back-to-back drives to overcome a 19-point deficit and take the lead with 27 seconds remaining.

Higgins returned from an injury that sidelined him for two games to record a game-high 10 tackles in No. 12 Linfield’s 35-20 victory over No. 22 Pacific Lutheran. He also had an interception, returning the ball for five yards. With the in, Linfield clinched its record 55th consecutive winning season.

Safety
Pastorino blocked a punt for the third week in a row. This week, he blocked a punt at the Menlo 16-yard line that resulted in a touchdown on the play. He was credited with one return for 25 yards on the play since the ball was snapped from the 28 and the block was recovered at the 3-yard line by a teammate and taken into the end zone. Pastorino also blocked a punt against Pacific that was recovered in the end zone and blocked a punt against Puget Sound that led to a touchdown.

Wide Receiver
Schoettgen caught a team-high eight passes for 159 yards and one touchdown in Willamette’s win over Puget Sound. His touchdown on a 2-yard pass with 1:16 left in the third quarter allowed him to tie a Willamette record with his 29th career touchdown catch. His career receiving went over the 2,000-yard mark at 110 catches for 2,086 yards (not school records).

Hedin had a monster game against Pacific, racking up seven total tackles, including four sacks, for a total loss of 33 yards. The sacks matched a career-high. The Wildcats limited the Boxers to 273 yards of offense and just 10 first downs.

Tailback
Malley returned four kickoffs for 126 yards, an average of 31.5 yards per return. Willamette scored a field goal and a pair of TDs following his returns. His final return was the longest at 40 yards. It set up Malley’s 39-yard TD run on the next play (his second rushing TD of the day). On offense, he rushed for 96 yards on nine carries.

Quarterback
Welch led the Pioneers offensively to their third consecutive home win. The home win streak is the teams’ first since 2003, while also being the first time the Pios have had three wins since 2003. Welch threw for one touchdown and ran 156 yards for three more against Menlo.

Davies returned a fumble 62 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter, helping PLU build a 19-0 lead on the way to a 39-21 home win against Whitworth. Davies also had one of PLU’s three quarterback sacks.

Clow averaged 36 yards per punt. More importantly, all four of his punts were stopped inside the PLU 20, including three inside the 15.

Quarterback
Boehme accounted for five touchdowns and racked up 329 yards of total offense in Linfield’s 35-7 victory over rival and 15th-ranked Willamette. He ran for 52 yards and three touchdowns, passed for 277 yards and two TDs, and completed 67 percent of his pass attempts.

Hedin led a Wildcat defense that held 15th-ranked Willamette scoreless over three quarters in a 35-7 victory. He tallied six tackles (five solo and two assisted), including three tackles for loss and two sacks.

Isett kicked a career-best 49-yard field goal on the game’s final play to give PLU a 31-28 win at Puget Sound. The game-winning field goal was the first time since the 1989 season that the Lutes won a game with a field goal in the closing seconds. Isett made two PATs and had another blocked.

Welch finished just two yards shy of rushing for 100+ yards for the second consecutive week. He had a solid game moving the Pioneer offense up the field against a strong Whitworth side.

Dunn set a career-high with three interceptions and had six INTs in the game. He also saved the Loggers in the second OT by forcing a fumble on third down against Whittier. Dunn had just one interception in his career before this game and set a season-high with 10 tackles.

Making his first career start, Kay made three field goals and was a perfect three-for-three in PAT in a 30-3 victory over La Verne.

WEEK OF SEPT. 13-19

Quarterback
Welch led the Pioneers to their third highest point total in school history. He helped the team set a new school record in most rushing yards in a single game in their first win over Pomona-Pitzer since 2001. The win is the Pioneer’s first home opening win since 2001.

Fox had two interceptions for the second straight game, giving him four this season in two games. He had a part in three of PLU’s five takeaways against Cal Lutheran, also forcing a fumble that was recovered by the Lutes.

Bell saw plenty of action for the Boxers against Claremont. He had two punts of 40 yards and over, including a 50-yard punt that landed CMS at their own 9-yard line in the third quarter.

Rasmussen threw 19-29-1 for 278 yards, including four touchdown passes that covered 27, 35, 56, and nine yards for the Lutes first season win against Hamline 27-20.

Inside Linebacker
Pineda recorded a game-high 17 total tackles, including 2.5 tackles for losses, in Willamette’s game against Hardin-Simmons. He also intercepted a pass for the second consecutive game at the WU 15-yard line, thwarting a HSU drive in the second quarter. Pineda’s defense helped the Bearcats limit HSU to 99 rushing yards on 38 carries (2.6 avg.)

Knecht returned four kickoffs for a total of 122 yards as he averaged 30.5 yards per return. His longest return covered 45 yards in the Bearcats’ game against Hardin-Simmons.

White had his first start as quarterback for the loggers, throwing 19-28 for 225 yards and two touchdowns.

Inside Linebacker
Pineda recorded a game-high 11 total tackles (seven solo) to go with a fumble recovery and a 44-yard interception return. The forced fumble and fumble recovery occurred on one play and gave Willamette the ball at the Stevens Point 4-yard line with 7:38 left in the game to step up WU’s final touchdown one play later. His efforts led WU’s defense in holding #16-ranked UW-Stevens Point to just 14 points and a rally to a 33-14 win.

Lee, a former soccer player, scored the first points of the Pacific football program and went 4 of 4 kicking field goals. On his first kick, Lee managed to put the ball through the uprights without a holder; a bad snap escaped the hands of the holder and Lee kicked the ball from the turf as it lied horizontal.
