May 5

NWC Hitter of the Week: Matt Sorenson (Puget Sound, Sr., DH/P, Redmond, Wash.) led the Loggers to a weekend sweep by going 5/12 with a double, five runs scored and six runs batted in.
Honorable Mention: Drew Randolph (PLU, C) went 7/11 with three doubles and four RBI in three games; Greg Roberts (Linfield, C) hit .571 (8/14) with three runs and three RBI; Todd Shaffer (L&C) went 4/8 with a double, a home run and four RBI; Sean Kinney (Whitman) was 5/12 with two doubles; Greg Dombeck went 3/3 with a double and a home run, driving in three runs.

Co-NWC Pitchers of the Week: Peter Young (Lewis & Clark, Jr., Livermore, Calif.) threw a complete-game six hitter in the 4-1 win over Willamette, striking out six and walking only one; Brant Shilliam (Linfield, So., RHP, Hillsboro, Ore.) threw a complete-game seven hitter in the 4-1 win over Pacific, striking out seven and walking two.
Honorable Mention: Matt Sorenson (UPS) went eight innings of the Loggers' 11-1 win over Whitman, giving up one run on four hits while striking out 11; Matt Serr (PLU) went 7.2 innings today vs. Whitworth, allowing three runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out two batters.

NWC Hitter of the Week: Eric Bell (George Fox, Sr., 1B, Spokane, Wash.) helped the Bruins clinch the NWC title by batting .600 (6/10) with three home runs, a double, nine runs batted in and five runs scored.
Honorable Mention: John Gebbers (Whitworth, OF) went 6/15 with two home runs, a double, seven RBI and five runs; Drew Randolph (PLU, C) went 7/17 with three home runs, 10 RBI and six runs in five games; Andy Bartels (Willamette, 3B) batted .450 (9/20) with four doubles, a home run, five RBI and six runs in four games; Sean Kinney (Whitman, OF) batted .500 with a home run, three doubles, four RBI and four runs; Greg Roberts (Linfield, C) was 6/21 with three home runs and six RBI in six games; Jim Zachor (Pacific, C) went 3/10 with a home run, three RBI and two runs.

NWC Pitcher of the Week: Cory Dixon (George Fox, Jr., LHP, Springfield, Ore.) threw a complete-game, four-hit shutout in the 14-0, NWC title-clinching win over L&C, striking out five and walking none.
Honorable Mention: Dan Lundeberg (Whitworth, LHP) allowed no runs on six hits in seven innings of the 7-0 win over Pacific, striking out five and walking three.

Co-NWC Hitters of the Week: Ryan Joy (Pacific, Sr., 1B, Olympia, Wash.) led the Boxers to a 4-1 week, going 10/23 with four home runs, 11 runs batted in and eight runs scored; Joshua Sargent (George Fox, Jr., DH, Oak Harbor, Wash.) hit .643 (9/14) with three home runs, two doubles, nine RBI and six runs scored in a 3-1 week.
Honorable Mention: Chuck Banta (Linfield, OF) hit .438 (7/16) with four RBI and four runs scored; Drew Ecklund (Willamette, CF) went 9/14 with four doubles and four RBI vs. PLU; Jason Miller (PLU) went 5/12 with a double and a run scored vs. Willamette.

NWC Pitcher of the Week: Jeff Jensen (Willamette, So., Salem, Ore.) threw a complete-game, two-hit shutout vs. PLU, allowing one walk and striking out nine.
Honorable Mention: Scott Hyde (George Fox, RHP) struck out 10, walked four and allowed three hits in seven innings of an 18-0 win over UPS; Derek Akimoto (Pacific) threw a complete game in a 12-2 win over Whitman, allowing one earned run on five hits and two walks, striking out six; Jordan Rasmussen (Linfield, RHP) threw a complete game in an 8-2 win over Whitworth, on six hits and a walk, striking out 10; Matt Serr (PLU) threw a complete game in a 4-2 win over Willamette, allowing one earned run on five hits and one walk while striking out four batters.

Apr. 13

NWC Hitter of the Week: Sam Bunnett (Puget Sound, Jr., 1B, Minneapolis, Minn.) led the Loggers to a sweep at L&C by hitting .429 (6/14) with two home runs, seven runs batted in and four runs scored.
Honorable Mention: Stephen Donohue (George Fox, OF) went 5/10 with a double, two RBI and six runs scored, while stealing three bases in three wins; David Moore (Linfield, 3B) batted .384 (5/13) with six RBI and six runs scored in a sweep at Whitman; Matt Drahn (Willamette, OF) went 7/16 with two home runs, eight RBI and three runs scored; Ryan Joy (Pacific, 1B) went 4/12 with three doubles, four RBI and two runs in three games; Jake Krummel (Whitworth, 2B) went 5/8 with a home run, triple, double, two RBI and two runs scored in two games; Blake Fisher (Whitman, SS) went 4/13 with two doubles, six RBI and three runs scored in three games.

NWC Pitcher of the Week: Scott Hyde (George Fox, So., RHP, Grants Pass, Ore.) struck out 17 batters in eight innings, setting a new Bruin single-game record in the 18-0 win over PLU. He allowed only two hits and no walks.
Honorable Mention: Josh Mills (Whitworth, RHP) threw a complete-game six-hitter vs. Hayward, allowing three runs while striking out four and walking none; Mike Allen (Willamette, LHP) went 1-0 in two eight-inning appearances, allowing 21 hits, six runs (one earned) and one walk while striking out ten batters; Alex Justus (Linfield) struck out 10 batters in 5.2 innings of relief, allowing three runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk.

Apr. 6

NWC Hitter of the Week: Eric Bell (George Fox, Sr., 1B, Spokane, Wash.) led the Bruins to a doubleheader sweep at Pacific by hitting .571 (4/7) with three home runs, six runs batted in, four runs scored and three walks.
Honorable Mention: Jake Krummel (Whitworth, 2B) went 8/11 with seven RBI and six runs scored in a sweep of Whitman; Matt Lengwenus (Pacific, OF) went 5/8 with two home runs, four RBI and two runs scored in two losses; Jared Moody (PLU, OF) went 5/12 with three doubles, six RBI and four runs scored in four games.

NWC Pitcher of the Week: Cole Young (Whitworth, Jr., RHP, Mead, Wash.) allowed no runs, one hit and one walk while striking out four in six innings of Sunday's 16-2 win over Whitman.
Honorable Mention: Cory Dixon (George Fox, LHP) allowed one run on seven hits and four walks, while striking out five, in eight innings of a 9-3 win over Pacific; Matt Serr (PLU, RHP) picked up two saves and a loss in 8.1 innings of relief against L&C, allowing three runs on nine hits.

Mar. 30

NWC Hitter of the Week: Joshua Sargent (George Fox, Jr., DH/OF, Oak Harbor, Wash.) led the Bruins to a 3-1 week by hitting .727 (8/11) with three doubles and a home run, while driving in 10 runners and scoring six times.
Honorable Mention: Jon Ball (Lewis & Clark) went 8/12 with seven RBI and four runs scored vs. Pacific; Kyle Shimizu (Pacific, 3B) went 6/16 in four games with a double, three RBI and four runs; Drew Ecklund (Willamette, OF) was 6/11 with two doubles, two RBI and three runs; Jason Anglin (PLU, CF) was 11/20 with a double, home run, three RBI and three runs in six games; Sean Kinney (Whitman, OF) went 5/13 with four runs scored in three exhibition games against Prairie Baseball Academy.

NWC Pitcher of the Week: Zach Van Griend (Willamette, So., RHP, Salem, Ore.) helped the Brearcats sweep Whitworth with a complete game 4-3 win, striking out 14 and walking none while allowing seven hits. He also earned a save by getting two outs Sunday.
Honorable Mention: Peter Young (L&C) went the distance in a 5-2 win over Pacific, allowing eight hits while striking out seven; Cory Dixon (George Fox, LHP) allowed three runs on nine hits in an 18-6 win over Linfield; Steve Pergin (Pacific) went 1-1 in 6.2 innings of relief; Adam Maldonado shut out PBA 1-0 in a seven inning complete game.

Mar. 24

NWC Hitter of the Week: Eric Bell (George Fox, Sr., 1B, Spokane, Wash.) led the Bruins to a pair of wins in three games at Whitworth by batting .583 (7/12) with a home run, a double, six runs batted in and three runs scored. His OB% was .667 (10/15).
Honorable Mention: Travis Shull (Willamette, C) went 9/19 in four games (all wins) with a pair of doubles, a home run, seven RBI and five runs scored; Tommy Orlinski (Pacific, 2B) went 4/9 with a double and two RBI.

Co-NWC Pitchers of the Week: Zach Van Griend (Willamette, So., RHP, Salem, Ore.) helped the Brearcats win two of their four games last week, by allowing two earned runs in 13 innings, on eight hits and 1 walk, while striking out 14 batters; Derek Akimoto (Pacific, Sr., Aiea, Hawaii) threw a complete game shutout in a 2-0 win over UPS, allowing eight hits and striking out eight batters.
Honorable Mention: Scott Hyde (George Fox, RHP) went seven innings to pick up the win in the Bruins' 15-0 rout of Whitworth, allowing no runs on one hit and six walks, striking out four.

Mar. 17

NWC Hitter of the Week: Josh Taylor (Whitworth, Jr., 1B, Suncrest, Wash.) led the Pirates to a pair of wins in three games by hitting .462 (6/13) with three home runs, a double, seven runs batted in and five runs scored.
Honorable Mention: Ryan Joy (Pacific, 1B) went 5/13 with two home runs, two doubles, five RBIs and four runs scored; Stephen Donohue (George Fox, OF) went 12/22 in five games with two doubles, eight runs scored and four RBIs; Todd Shaffer (L&C) went 5/9 with a home run, a double, and three RBIs; Greg Rainka (Linfield, OF) went 5/12 with a home run and three RBIs; Mike Allen (Willamette, OF) went 5/13 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

NWC Pitcher of the Week: Mike Beck (George Fox, Jr., RHP, Livermore, Calif.) went 2-0 last week, with a 0.60 ERA, allowing five hits and one run in 15 innings with 11 strikeouts and four walks.
Honorable Mention: Matt Serr (PLU) went the distance in a 5-2 win over Pacific, allowing seven hits, no walks and striking out three; Derek Akimoto (Pacific) went seven in the 18-2 win at PLU, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out six; Brant Shilliam (Linfield) went seven innings in the opener vs. UPS, allowing four hits, two runs and two walks while striking out six; Kurt Reese (Whitworth) went 8.2 innings, allowing three earned runs and six hits, while striking out six, in the opener vs. L&C.

Mar. 9

NWC Hitter of the Week: Jeremy McMillen (Whitworth, Jr., C, Rathdrum, Idaho) led Whitworth to a pair of wins by going 3/7 with two home runs, a double, eight runs batted in, two runs scored and a walk.
Honorable Mention: Sam Bunnett (UPS, 1B) went 6/11 with six RBIs and three runs in three games; Chuck Banta (Linfield, OF) hit .500 (6/12) with three doubles and two RBIs in three games; Blake Fisher (Whitman) went 6/11 with two doubles, two RBIs and three runs scored in three games; David Petterson (George Fox, SS) went 3/4, including a double and a run scored in the Bruins' only game.

NWC Pitcher of the Week: Scott Hyde (George Fox, So., RHP, Grants Pass, Ore.) went nine innings, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out 11, and walking three in his no-decision against Willamette.
Honorable Mention: Jake Jensen (Whitman) went eight innings vs. L&C to pick up his first win, allowing seven hits, striking out four and walking two.

Mar. 2

NWC Hitter of the Week: J.J. Stolsing (Linfield, So., Lebanon, Ore.) went 6 for 9 at the plate with two home runs (including a grand slam), seven runs batted in and 12 total bases in four games.
Honorable Mention: Kevin Tucker (George Fox, 3B) went 4/12 with a double, home run, four runs scored and two rbi's in the first three games of the Juggs Classic.

NWC Pitcher of the Week: Brant Shilliam (Linfield, So., Hillsboro, Ore.) threw a complete-game shutout vs. Concordia, striking out nine, walking two and allowing only one hit.
Honorable Mention: Scott Hyde (George Fox) allowed only one run in eight innings of a 3-1, 10-inning win over Western Baptist, striking out 11, walking two and allowing four hits. He did not get a decision.
