2000 NWC Women's Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week

Oct. 23-28

Player of the Week: Buffy Morris (Willamette, Jr., F, Newport, WA) recorded back to back hat tricks in wins over George Fox and Pacific, scoring six total goals.
Honorable Mention: Brianna Hultgren (UPS, F) scored all three goals in a 3-0 win over Whitman; Alison Brennan (PLU, F) scored three goals in two matches.

Oct. 16-22

Player of the Week: Brooke Pitner (George Fox, Fr., M, Vancouver, WA) scored two goals and added two assists as the Bruins went 3-0 this week.
Honorable Mention: Brianna Hultgren (UPS, F) scored the winning goal against #4 Willamette; Rena Parcells (Whitman, GK) allowed one goal in two matches to lead the Missionaries to their first win of the season.

Oct. 9-15

Player of the Week: Jenny Bellone (Willamette, Sr., M, Lake Oswego, Ore.) scored two goals and added two assists to lead the Bearcats to a pair of wins.
Honorable Mention: Alison Brennan (PLU, F) scored all three goals in the Lutes' win at Pacific; Dusty Marcell (UPS, F/M) scored a goal and added two assists as the Loggers went 2-0 on the road; Cherish Kaaa (Linfield, M) scored a pair of goals.

Oct. 2-8

Player of the Week: Alison Brennan (PLU, Sr., F, Gig Harbor, WA) scored three goals and added an assist, leading the Lutes to a pair of wins. She had a hat trick against Whitworth.
Honorable Mention: Dusty Marcell (UPS, F/M) scored three goals in the first 26 minutes of the Loggers' win at Whitman; Gloria Cefali (PLU, GK) made 14 saves enroute to recording a pair of shutouts; Cori Wulf (George Fox, GK) recorded six saves in Bruins' win over Willamette and allowed one goal in two matches; Lauren Millholin (Linfield, F) scored two goals in two matches.

Sept. 25-Oct. 1

Player of the Week: Jessica Gabbert (Linfield, Jr., GK, Colorado Springs, CO) recorded a pair of shutouts at Whitman and Whitworth to lead the Wildcats to a win and a tie on the road.
Honorable Mention: Michelle Moore (UPS) scored four goals in two wins, including a hat-trick against Pacific; Buffy Morris (Willamette, F) scored four goals and added two assists in a pair of Bearcat road wins; Karli Holub (George Fox, F) scored all three goals in 3-2 win at PLU.

Sept. 18-24

Player of the Week: Karli Holub (George Fox, Jr., F, Pleasant Hill, Ore.) scored three goals and added four assists as the Bruins went 3-0 last week.
Honorable Mention: Dusty Marcell (UPS) scored all three goals in a 3-0 win over PLU and also added a pair of assists in three total matches; Dalyce Young (Whitworth, D) scored two goals and added four assists in three matches; Anne Merten (Willamette) scored two goals, both match-winners, as the Bearcats went 3-0; Leslie Renier (Pacific, GK) had 18 saves in three matches, including a shutout over Whitman; Jessica Gabbert (Linfield, GK) also made 18 saves in three matches, including a double-overtime shutout of PLU.

Sept. 11-17

Player of the Week: Malia DeVilliers (Pacific, Sr., F, Vancouver, Wash) scored three goals and added an assist in the Boxers' 9-1 win over Simpson.
Honorable Mention: Briana Hultgren (UPS, F) scored two goals in a win over nationally-ranked UC-Santa Cruz; Buffy Morris (Willamette, F) scored two goals in 5-0 win over Western Baptist; Alison Brennan (PLU, MF) scored a goal and added a pair of assists as the Lutes went 1-1 last week.

Sept. 4-10

Player of the Week: Karen Ecklebe (UPS, GK) allowed 0 goals in 195 minutes of play last week, making 20 saves.
Honorable Mention: Stacey Roberts (Whitworth, GK) allowed one goal in two Pirate road wins last week; Gloria Cefali (PLU, GK) made 12 saves in a pair of 1-0 losses in Hawaii, including one in overtime.
