1999 NWC Women's Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week

Oct. 25-31

Player of the Week: Natalie Flindt (Willamette, Sr., F, Chico, CA) scored four goals in two matches, including a hat trick in Bearcats' 6-0 win at Pacific that finished the regular season. Honorable Mention: Stacey Roberts (Whitworth, GK) recorded her 8th and 9th shutouts of the season (tying a Whitworth record) in the Pirates' wins over PLU and UPS; Kristina Anderson (Whitman, GK) recorded 24 saves in two matches, including 17 in double OT loss to PLU.

Oct. 18-24

Player of the Week: Katie Edmonds (Willamette, Sr., F, Salem, OR) led the Bearcats to a 3-0 week with four goals. Honorable Mention: Karli Holub (George Fox, F) scored two goals in a 3-1 win over Pacific; Tasha Ockfen (PLU, MF) scored a goal and added an assist in 2-0 win over Pacific; Jamie Grindrod (Whitman, D) scored the winning goal vs. Linfield and had an assist in narrow 2-1 loss to Willamette; Marie Snavely (Linfield, F) scored the winning goal in 1-0 win at Whitworth, Linfield's first NWC road win of the season.

Oct. 11-17

Player of the Week: Jennifer Dunford (Whitworth, Sr., F, Spokane, WA) scored three goals last week - the final two in the Pirates' come-from-behind win at Pacific and the match-winner in double overtime at George Fox.
Honorable Mention: Cherish Kaaa (Linfield, GK) shut-out second-place UPS to help break Wildcats' seven-match losing streak; Heather Ebert (Willamette, MF) scored both goals in Bearcats' 2-1 overtime win vs. PLU; Angela Lightner (Pacific, F) scored both goals in Boxers' 3-2 loss to Whitworth.

Oct. 4-10

Player of the Week: Karen Ecklebe (Puget Sound, So., GK, Gig Harbor, WA) led the Loggers to a pair of wins with two shutouts over the weekend over Whitworth and Whitman. She had 11 saves. Honorable Mention: Karli Holub (George Fox, F) scored three goals last weekend, including two against first-place Willamette. . . Buffy Morris (Willamette, MF) scored three goals and added a pair of assists as the Bearcats went 3-0 last week.

Sept. 27-Oct. 3

Player of the Week: Natalie Flindt (Willamette, Sr., F, Chico, CA) scored the winning goal in 1-0 win over Whitworth and sparked 7-0 win over Whitman with another pair.. Honorable Mention: Stacy Roberts (Whitworth, GK) gave up only one goal in two matches, lowering goals against average to 0.75. . .

Sept. 20-26

Player of the Week: Jen Overstreet (George Fox, Sr., F, Beaverton, OR) scored four goals last week, two in a 4-2 win over Pacific and both goals in a 2-1 win at Whitman. Honorable Mention: Jennifer Dunford (Whitworth, Sr., F) scored all three of the Pirates' goals last week, including the lone goal in a 1-0 win at Whitman and both goals in a 2-1 win over George Fox; Heather Ebert (Willamette, So., MF) had one goal and three assists to lead the 2nd-ranked Bearcats to a 3-0 week and into first place in the NWC; Meaghan Whalen (Linfield, So., F) scored both goals in a 4-2 loss to Willamette.

Sept. 13-19

Player of the Week: Danalyn Ong (Pacific, So., GK, Waipahu, HI) recorded her fourth shutout of the season in Pacific's 2-0 win over Cascade. Honorable Mention: Tori Taylor (George Fox, Fr., MF) scored both goals in the Bruins' 2-1 win over Western Baptist including the game winner with one second to play. . . Alison Brennan (PLU, Jr., F) scored two goals in two matches . . . Meaghan Whalen (Linfield, So., F) scored a pair of goals in Wildcats' 4-0 win over Evergreen St.

Sept. 6-12

Player of the Week: Malia De Villiers (Pacific, Jr., F, Vancouver, WA) scored two goals and added two assists in the Boxers' win over Augsburg on Sunday. Honorable Mention: Heidi Bohnett (Whitworth, Sr., MF) scored both goals in Pirates' win over Carroll. . . Sarah Blawat (UPS, Sr., F) had a goal and assist in Loggers' win over Redlands. . . Nicole Marshall (Whitman, Sr., F) scored both goals in Missionaries' loss to Carroll. . . Natalie Flindt (Willamette, Sr., F) scored game winner vs. Trinity and assisted on tying goal against Southwestern.
