Watilo pitched two complete game victories against Whitworth. She threw a seven-inning, three-hit shutout in the first game of the series, while recording three strikeouts. All three hits were singles. In the third game of the series, she pitched all nine innings and struck out eight batters as Willamette won 5-4 in extra innings. For the week, Watilo achieved a 1.75 ERA. She improved to 15-4 on the season.

Paavola posted her first career shutout in an 8-0 win over Puget Sound that was called after five innings. Even in a shortened game, she still managed to strike out 10 batters while walking just one and giving up three hits. For the week, she registered a .68 ERA with 16 strikeouts and only one run.

Hagensen was the winning pitcher in four of PLU’s five victories this week. She had three complete-game victories. In 21 2/3 innings she allowed five earned runs (1.62 ERA), 19 hits, with 13 strikeouts and six walks. On offense she hit .500 with one double, one triple, one homer, six runs and five RBI. She was walked eight times in the five games and had a .722 on-base pct.

Cuthill was one of three PLU players who hit over .500 with two homers in the Willamette series. She hit her first collegiate home run in Saturday’s second game victory, and then hit a grand slam in the first game win on Sunday. Hitting in the No. 2 spot in the lineup, she hit .538 (7-for-13) with seven runs scored, nine RBIs, two homers and one double. She had a 1.077 slugging percentage during the weekend and a .600 on-base percentage. She also had eight total field chances without an error, and made two diving catches in left field.

She protected her 0.00 ERA for the week with another win over Lewis & Clark, retiring four Pioneers and giving up just two hits in two innings of work.

Hento picked up three wins in the Bruins’ four-game sweep of the Mountaineers, two starting and one relief in a 10-inning fourth-game win. She struck out 14 with one walk in 13.1 innings while allowing only 12 hits and 2.05 ERA. She threw a complete game with nine strikeouts in the series opener and fanned three in 1.2 innings to get a relief win in the last game.
