Pacific Lutheran Unanimous Choice to Repeat

SPOKANE, WA -- Defending champion Pacific Lutheran University is a unanimous choice to repeat as Northwest Conference softball champions for the 2000 season. All six coaches who voted in the poll picked PLU as the pre-season favorite for the conference title, giving them 54 point. The Lutes went undefeated in conference play in 1999 and advanced to the NCAA Western Regional.

Puget Sound, last season's NWC runner-up, has been picked to finish second by NWC coach as they come in with 40 points.

Linfield was picked to finish third with 36 points. A potential dark horse is Willamette, selected by coaches to make a significant jump to fourth in the standings.
