The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Women’s Track & Field for the week of April 14th through April 20th.
Women’s Track - Student-Athlete of the Week
Malia Heien I Distance I Lewis & Clark | SR | Denver, Colo. | Northfield
Heien ran the top time in the Northwest Conference in the 800M and anchored the fastest 4x400M Relay team in the conference this season on Saturday at the L&C Larry Byerly Invitational. The senior finished third out of 69 runners in the 800M and first among D3 runners with a season-best time of 2:13.91. Her time puts her 43rd in NCAA DIII and is 2.5 seconds faster than the second-best time in the NWC this year. She also helped Lewis & Clark run the third-fastest time in school history in the 4x400M. The River Otters crossed the line in 3:58.38 to become the first team in the NWC to break four minutes this season and to move into 66th in D3 this year.
Women’s Field - Student-Athlete of the Week
Madison Carr I Throws I Whitworth | SR | Spokane, Wash. | West Valley
Madison Carr won the women's shot put as part of the 2026 Whitworth Twilight and Alumni meet with a season-best toss of 45'-9.75". That distance is the fourth-best in NCAA Division III this season. Carr was also runner-up in the women's hammer throw with a mark of 171'-3".
