The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Softball for the week of March 24th through March 30th.
Softball- Pitcher - Student-Athlete of the Week
Maggie O'Leary I P I Lewis & Clark | SR | Kennewick, Wash. | Kamiakin
O’Leary was a workhorse to lead Lewis & Clark to a 5-3 week against a pair of 2025 Northwest Conference Tournament teams. The senior started four games and pitched in seven contests. She earned a decision in all five River Otter wins with a 3-2 record, two saves and a 2.21 ERA. She struck out 26 batters on the week and held opposing hitters to a .228 batting average. O’Leary threw a complete game in a game three win over PLU and then came on to pitch a 1-2-3 seventh in a 5-4 win. She opened the weekend against George Fox by allowing one unearned run in her first 17 innings of work. The senior threw a complete game in game one (one unearned run) and then threw five scoreless innings of relief in game two in a 4-3, 10-inning win. O’Leary came back on Sunday to toss two scoreless innings of relief to earn the save in a 13-10 game three win.
Softball- Player - Student-Athlete of the Week
Meara Sain I OF I Linfield | JR | Eugene, Ore. | Sheldon
Sain hit .615 (8-13) at the plate over the weekend in Linfield's four-game sweep of Whitworth, where three of four games ended via run-rule. She tallied five doubles, two home runs, 19 total bases and nine runs batted in. The junior outfielder slugged 1.462, reaching base two-thirds of the time and stealing one bag while striking out just once. She also made nine putouts and an assist for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in the outfield.
