Sam Burchi I P I Lewis & Clark | SO | Laguna Beach, Calif. | Laguna Beach
Burchi struck out 11 batters over five scoreless innings on Saturday against the University of Puget Sound. The sophomore scattered two hits, two walks and two hit by pitches in his third collegiate start. He struck out the side in the first two innings, posted multiple strikeouts in four innings and at least one punch out in all five frames he worked. His 11 strikeouts were the most by a River Otters pitch in over two years.

Austin Paul I 2B I Whitworth | SR | Redmond, Ore. | Redmond
Whitworth senior second baseman Austin Paul, normally known as an All-Region defensive player, had a hugely impactful weekend at the plate in Whitworth's sweep of Pacific. He batted 5 for 9 (.556) with five walks to reach base ten times. More importantly he drove in 12 runs over the course of three games, including a career-high six RBIs in game two. He hit a three-run home run, a bases-clearing triple, an RBI double and two two-run singles in the series. And he played his usually solid defense with seven assists and four putouts (11 total chances) without an error. He was part of turning one double play.
