Men’s Track - Student-Athlete of the Week
Jordan Lahusky I Sprints I Lewis & Clark | SR | Phoenix, Ariz. | Thunderbird
Lahusky won the 400M and led the Lewis & Clark men's 4x100M Relay team to victory at the L&C Electric Forest Open. The senior finished first out of 10 competitors in the 400M when he crossed the line in 49.44. His time is tied for the second-fastest in the NWC this season and 35th in NCAA DIII. He also helped the 4x100M Relay team post the fourth-fastest time in school history with a time of 42.37. Lewis & Clark's 4x100M Relay team sits second in the NWC and 21st in D3.
Men’s Field - Student-Athlete of the Week
Caleb Smith I Dec. I George Fox | SR | Goldendale, Wash. | Goldendale
Smith put together one of the best athletic performances in George Fox track and field history, breaking the 31-year old program decathlon record, set by his head coach, John Smith. Against 13 athletes, Smith won five events: The long jump, high jump, discus, pole vault, and javelin. When all was said and done, the former walk-on had scored 7170, breaking the program mark and putting himself in the top 50 nationally in all events. In the decathlon total, Smith's record of 7170 is number one in the nation by a wide margin, 250 points better than his nearest national competition.
