Softball- Pitcher - Student-Athlete of the Week
Tyler McNeley I P I Linfield | JR | Lakeview, Ore. | Lakeview
McNeley started four games inside the circle, making five appearances, earning wins in all five. Over 29.0 innings pitched, the junior earned just three runs, striking out 33 and walking seven. She tallied four complete games, two of which were shutouts, and failed to allow a home run in the week. She has the best record in the NWC (13-1), with the second-best ERA (1.74), leading the way with five shutouts and 98 strikeouts. Nationally, the junior pitcher ranks No. 11 in strikeouts and No. 7 in wins in Division III.
Softball- Player - Student-Athlete of the Week
Ashlyn Aven I C/OF I Linfield | SR | Yelm, Wash. | Yelm
Senior catcher Ashlyn Aven started all eight games over the past seven days, slashing 15-27 (.556) at the dish, driving in 18 total runs with six doubles and three home runs. She helped Linfield win all eight games, rolling through Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Saint Benedict, Whittier and La Verne, extending the Wildcats winning streak to 12 games. The catcher slugged 1.111 with an OBP of .594, walking four times, stealing two bags and striking out just once in her 27 at bats. Aven ranks among the best in the NWC: No. 4 in average (.419), No. 2 in OPS (1.328), No. 1 in home runs (8), No. 1 in RBIs (35) and No. 1 in Slugging% (.851). She is also the Division III leader in home runs and RBIs.
