Konop & Hayashida Named NWC Swimming Student-Athletes of the Week

The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Swimming for the week of January 27th through February 2nd. 

Women’s Swimming - Student-Athlete of the Week
Molly Konop I Whitworth | FR | Redmond, Ore. | Redmond

Konop was a key piece of Whitworth's 179-78 victory over Whitman in the dual season finale on Saturday.  She swam the breaststroke leg of the opening 200-medley relay, which won in 1:50.40.  She also won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:07.44 and the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:26.50.  She was part of the Pirates' “B” 200 freestyle relay that took second behind the “A” relay with a time of 1:44.22.

Men’s Swimming - Student-Athlete of the Week

Hayashida led Whitworth's men to a 198-64 victory over Whitman in the 2025-26 dual meet finale on Saturday.  He led off the winning 200-yard medley relay which broke a pool record with a time of 1:32.74.  He went on to win the 100-yard backstroke in 52.99 and the 200-yard individual medley in 2:00.21.  He also finished second to teammate Parker Dangleis in the 100 freestyle, his “off” event, with a season-best time of 48.25.
