Boise, Idaho– The Whitworth men and women continue to lead the team standings following day three of competition at the 2026 Northwest Conference Swimming Championships, held at Idaho Central Aquatic Center.
The Whitworth men currently sit on top with a total of 594 points, with the Puget Sound Loggers sitting in second at 347.5 points. In third are the Whitmam Blues (270.5), followed by Linfield (268.5), Pacific Lutheran (211.5), Lewis & Clark (188), Willamette (156), and George Fox (148). On the women’s side, the Whitworth Pirates hold the first position a total of 488 points, followed by the Puget Sound Loggers in second with 319 points. In third place are the Pacific Lutheran Lutes (268), followed by Whitman and George Fox tied at fourth (263), Linfield (253), Willamette (173), Lewis & Clark (151), and Pacific (78).
In the first event of the evening, the Whitworth men’s quartet of Austin Elwyn, Alex Popov, Henry Brewster, & Nathanael Van Liew placed first in the 200 medley relay, posting a time of 1:29.26. On the women’s side, the Whitworth squad of Paige Dangleis, Molly Konop, Grace Esteban, & Megan Bonikowsky raced a 200 medley relay time of 1:45.21 to earn gold.
Claiming victory in the first individual race of the night was Jake Sachtjen of Whitworth in the 400 individual medley in a time of 4:07.50. In the women’s 400 individual medley, fellow Pirate Kallie Badry earned gold, posting a time of 4:36.87.
Whitworth men took the gold in the 100 fly, Henry Brewster claimed victory by a fraction with a time of 49.30, inching out Lewis & Clark’s Ezra Billings (49.35). In the women’s 100 fly, Whitman’s Avery Riley claimed gold with a final time of 56.38.
Junior Parker Dangleis took another gold home for the Pirates in the 200 free, posting a time of 1:40.91. Whitworth teammate and sibling Paige Dangleis outraced the competition in the 200 free earning first place (1:53.52), while Kirsti Keppo of Linfield placed second (1:54.83).
The Whitworth women also took home gold in the 100 breaststroke, first place going to Freshman Molly Konop (1:04.17). For the men, Puget Sound Freshman Anderson Bennett claimed gold in the finals, swimming a time of 55.49.
In the 100 backstroke, Freshman Gabbie Patti of Geoge Fox grabbed her second gold medal of the championship with a time of 54.74 with a dominant 5-second gap. Austin Elwyn of the Whitworth Pirates posted a time of 50.51 and claimed first place in the 100 backstroke.
In the final event of the evening, the Whitworth made another strong statement in the pool. The Whitworth men’s squad (Parker Dangleis, Henry Brewster, Austin Elwyn, & Kai Hayashida) claimed victory in the 800 free (6:53.74). The Whitworth women’s squad (Kallie Badry, Makhaela Parrish, Isabella Hoopes, and Megan Bonikowsky) edged out the competition in the 800 free relay (7:53.62), just a hair ahead of the Puget Sound Loggers (7:56.72).
