Badger & Keightley Named NWC Volleyball Student-Athletes of the Week

The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Women’s Volleyball for the week of September 3rd through September 8th.

Volleyball - Offense - Student-Athlete of the Week
Maddie Badger I MB I Puget Sound | SO | Santa Clara, Calif. | Lynbrook

Badger had an extremely efficient hitting weekend, hitting .400 with 28 kills. In game one against Texas Lutheran, Badger had 13 kills on 17 attempts, hitting .588 and leading the Loggers to a 3-0 sweep of the Bulldogs. She is now second in the NWC in hitting percentage and first among athletes with 70 or more attempts. She also added six blocks to her weekend resume, and was a force to be reckoned with in the middle of the court.

Volleyball - Defense - Student-Athlete of the Week
Samantha Keightley I Libero I Puget Sound | JR | Gervais, Ore. | Oregon City

Keightley had a fantastic weekend defensively for the Loggers in their trip to Texas this past weekend. She totaled 55 digs and 2 service aces, averaging 6.11 digs per set in the three games she played. Despite dropping two games this weekend, Puget Sound took No. 16 Illinois Wesleyan to overtime in not one, but two sets. Keightley's big weekend brings her up to second in the conference in digs/set, averaging 5.28 on the season.
