Rush & Takemoto Named NWC Volleyball Student-Athletes of the Week

The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Women’s Volleyball for the week of September 23rd through September 29th.

Volleyball - Offense - Student-Athlete of the Week
Randi Rush I S I Puget Sound | JR | New Braunfels, Tex. | New Braunfels

Rush had yet another stellar week for the Loggers, recording 75 assists in two games. Her 38 in three sets against Pacific Lutheran helped the Loggers sweep the Lutes for the second time this season, a feat they haven't accomplished since 2016. She averaged 12.5 assists/set this week and currently leads the conference with 11.42 assists/set, which is more than 2 assists/set higher than the next closest athlete. She is also No. 5 in all of DIII in assists/set, averaging 10.83 on the season.

Takemoto is currently leading the conference in digs per set and added two impressive performances this weekend. Versus Puget Sound, she recorded 20 digs and added 2 service aces. Against Pacific Lutheran, Takemoto led all athletes with 28 digs along with 7 assists. For the weekend, she averaged a whopping 6.85 digs per set.
