Newberg, Oregon – George Fox and Whitman will meet in the 2025 Northwest Conference Women’s Lacrosse Championship after winning their semifinal games on Friday at the Austin Sports Complex.
Top-seeded George Fox defeated Linfield, 19-10, to earn a spot in the title game. The Bruins started strong, scoring six goals in the first quarter and keeping the lead the rest of the way. Ava Bluhm and Lana Davis each scored five goals, while Claire Abraham and Merrick Gibson each added three. The Bruins outscored Linfield 5-1 in the final quarter to secure the win.
George Fox outshot Linfield 34-24 and collected 21 ground balls. Myah Pack made seven saves in goal. The Bruins are now 13-4 on the season.
Linfield, making its first-ever appearance in the NWC Tournament, was led by Gabby Crist and Mackenzie Kulick, who each scored four goals. Maya Wright added two goals, and Tenley Hodge had nine saves in goal.
In the second semifinal, Whitman came from behind to defeat Willamette, 12-9. Willamette led 6-3 at halftime, but Whitman scored four straight goals to take the lead in the third quarter. After the teams entered the fourth quarter tied at 8-8, Whitman finished the game with four straight goals.
Gracie Maulik led the Blues with three goals, while Sarah Hawkins, Lola McConaghy, and Lena Pasena-Littlesky each added two goals in a balanced team effort. Whitman’s defense stepped up in the second half, limiting Willamette to just three goals and holding strong in key moments down the stretch.
Willamette was led by Lily Bachiochi with three goals, all in the first half before she exited with a second yellow card. Alex Warfel scored twice, and Olivia Austin made 17 saves in goal.
George Fox and Whitman will play for the NWC Tournament Championship on Sunday, May 5 at 1:00 p.m. at the Austin Sports Complex. The winner will receive the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Tournament.
