Women’s Track - Student-Athlete of the Week
Riley Buese I Distance I Lewis & Clark | SR | Denver, Colo. | Northfield
Buese crushed her own Northwest Conference record in the 10,000M on Friday night at the Stanford Invitational. The senior ran the second-fastest time in NCAA DIII with a time of 34:16.33. Her time was a PR by 49.40 seconds. Her time is almost 2 minutes faster than the second-fastest time by an NWC runner this year.
Women’s Field - Student-Athlete of the Week
Amblessed Okemgbo I Throws I Whitworth | JR | Medical Lake, Wash. | Medical Lake
Okemgbo had two strong performances at the Whitworth Peace meet, which featured 21 schools (including several complete Div. I teams). She was runner-up in the discus with a mark of 143'-5" which now leads the NWC and ranks 13th in DIII. She took third in the shot put with a distance of 45'-2.5", which also leads the NWC and ranks sixth in Div. III.
