The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Softball for the week of April 23rd through April 28th.
Softball- Pitcher - Student-Athlete of the Week
Paige Wilson I P I Pacific Lutheran | SR | Carlsbad, Calif. | Carlsbad
Wilson tossed her third no-hitter of the season on Sunday, finishing the weekend with a perfect 0.00 ERA in 12 innings of work. That includes tossing two complete games and throwing two innings in relief in a third game as the Lutes went 4-0 on the road in Spokane. Wilson finished the entire week with a 1.65 ERA, tossing 17 innings with nine strikeouts and holding opposing hitters to a .167 batting average.
Softball- Player - Student-Athlete of the Week
Sharon Tomei I 1B I George Fox | SR | Santa Clarita, Calif. | Saugus
Tomei went ballistic this weekend, hitting an impressive 5 home runs and 11 RBIs as the Bruins handed No. 4 Linfield their first series split since 2022. In game two of the series, she went 3-4 with three home runs and six RBIs, including a walk-off solo shot in the bottom of the fifth inning to run-rule the Wildcats for the first time since 2019. She then hit a grand slam in game three, and another solo home run in game four. To add to her accolades, Tomei also broke the GFU career home run record, career RBI record, season total bases record, and jumped up to number two in the nation in home runs on the season.
