The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Women’s Lacrosse for the week of April 15th through April 22nd.
Women’s Lacrosse- Offense- Student-Athlete of the Week
Lily Bachiochi I A I Willamette | SR | Henderson, Nev. | Coronado
Bachiochi registered 20 points over two games, scoring 15 goals and adding 5 assists. The senior attacker set a Willamette school record with 10 goals in a comeback win at Whitworth. The Bearcats fell behind early to the Pirates and were trailing 11-10 heading to the fourth quarter when Bachiochi assisted the first two goals of the quarter and scored four goals as Willamette rallied for a 17-12 win. She continued her strong play the next day at Whitman, scoring the opening goal and assisting on the next two as the Bearcats jumped out to an early lead. She ended the match with five goals and three assists as Willamette fell to Whitman 18-15.
Women’s Lacrosse- Defense- Student-Athlete of the Week
Shae Katagi I D I George Fox | SR | Aurora, Colo. | Eaglecrest
Katagi had a fantastic weekend, helping the Bruins hold their opponents to a total of four goals. She caused 5 turnovers and a whopping 8 ground balls, and didn't turn the ball over a single time. In her game against Pacific Lutheran, she had four caused turnovers and seven ground balls, holding the Lutes offense to one goal that came in the final three minutes of the game.
