2025 Northwest Conference Men's & Women's Golf Championship

MCMINNVILLE, Ore.– The Northwest Conference men's and women's golf teams will compete for the NWC Championship title this coming April 20-21st, hosted by Linfield at Michelbook Country Club in McMinnville, Ore.

Men 

The Willamette Bearcats men’s golf squad won both the 2024 Fall Classic and the 2025 Spring Classic, narrowly edging out the NWC competition in both events to claim first place. In the previous NWC matchup, the Bearcats won the championship title by a single stroke, surpassing both the Whitman Blues and the George Fox Bruins who tied for second place. 

Willamette standout Brock Olson claimed individual honors at the NWC Spring Classic, shooting a 68-72—140 (-4). Teammate Oliver Smith claimed individual top honors at the NWC Fall Classic, and placed fourth at the Spring Classic with a final combined score of 142. 

Both Whitman and George Fox sit close behind in second place after finishing tied for runner-up at both seasonal classics. Defending NWC Golf Champions Whitman sit in second place in the standings, just 6 points behind Willamette. Mason Remington led the Blues in the Spring Classic with a final score of 141, tying for second individually. Senior of George Fox Brenden Borck tied with four other NWC competitors with a combined score of 143. The George Fox squad sits at third place in the standings, followed closely by Linfield and Pacific Lutheran. Rounding out the standings, Whitworth sits in sixth, followed by Lewis & Clark, Puget Sound, and Pacific. 

Women 

The George Fox women's golf team enters the NWC Championship tournament as the leading contender for the conference title. They claimed victory at both the NWC Fall Classic and the NWC Spring Classic this season, sweeping the competition holding the top four highest scores in individual play.

Senior Alison Takamiya of George Fox, the reigning NCAA Division III individual champion, will look to continue her dominance after claiming individual honors at both seasonal classics. At the NWC Spring Classic Takamiya finished with rounds of 74 and 71 for a 145 (+1). Teammates Makensie Toole (73-74—147), Liana Brown (72-76—148), and Ainsley Carter (76-74—150) secured the Bruin win by claiming the next three top spots. 

The Whitman Blues enter the tournament in second place, having finished second at both the Fall and Spring Classic. Cindy Lou of Whitman posted a score of 154 at the Spring Classic, claiming sixth place on the individual leaderboard. 

In third place sits the Whitworth Pirates, with a fifth place individual score from Stacia Sarty at the Spring Classic (153), followed by Pacific (Ore.) in fourth, Lewis & Clark in fifth, and Pacific Lutheran in sixth. Rounding out the standings is Puget Sound, Linfield, and Willamette.
