The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Women’s Track & Field for the week of April 8th through April 14th.
Women’s Track - Student-Athlete of the Week
Elsie Chin I Sprints/Hurdles I Lewis & Clark | JR | Portland, Ore. | Cleveland
Chin ran the fastest time in the Northwest Conference this year in the 400M Hurdles and the second-fastest time in the 4x400M Relay and 400M. She posted the fastest-time by an NCAA DIII runner and the third-fastest overall in the 400M Hurdles at the John Knight Twilight Meet. Her time of 1:04.06 puts her second in program history and 21st in DIII this year. She was a part of the Pioneers 4x400M Relay team that finished first out of 12 teams and beat Portland State by nearly 1.50 seconds. The Pioneers' time of 4:02.89 is the second-fastest in the NWC this season and 38th fastest in D3. She tacked on the second-fastest time by an NWC runner in the 400M this year when she finished fourth out of 32 runners with a time of 59.06.
Women’s Field - Student-Athlete of the Week
Brianna Tira I Throws I Whitworth | SO | Colorado Springs, Colo. | Falcon
Among a deep field at the 2025 Jeff Rahn Classic, Tira cleared 5'-6" in the high jump to finish second overall. Her mark leads the Northwest Conference and now ranks fourth in NCAA Division III. She also hit a personal record in the long jump with a distance of 17'-7.5" to finish fourth, a mark that is now fourth in the NWC.
