The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Softball for the week of April 8th through April 14th.
Softball- Pitcher - Student-Athlete of the Week
Tyler McNeley I Pitcher I Linfield | SO | Lakeview, Ore. | Lakeview
McNeley continued her dominant run through the Northwest Conference this season with a perfect game on Sunday against Pacific. This is Linfield's first full perfect game in 16 years. Over the course of two games, the sophomore pitched 12 innings, totaling 16 strikeouts, allowing no runs and just five hits.
Softball- Player - Student-Athlete of the Week
Sharon Tomei I 1B I George Fox | SR | Santa Clarita, Calif. | Saugus
Tomei was unstoppable against Willamette this weekend, batting .700 with 3 home runs and 5 RBIs to help the Bruins to a four-game sweep. She had a game-winning home run in game one and a 2 RBI single to give the Bruins the lead in game two, and then was intentionally walked three times in game three. The one time Willamette pitched to her in game three, she hit a home run. She finished out her weekend going 2 for 3 with a home run in game four. To add to the phenomenal hitting, she also raised her season batting average from .467 to .494.
