The Northwest Conference women’s track & field coaches have spoken ahead of the 2025 season, and George Fox has been named the preseason favorite. The Bruins are aiming for their eighth consecutive NWC title. They claimed eight first-place votes to top the poll with 63 points.
Whitworth, last season’s runner-up, was the only other team to receive a first-place vote. The Pirates placed second in the poll with 58 points, positioning themselves as strong challengers for the title.
Lewis & Clark edged out Pacific for third place, collecting 42 points compared to Pacific’s 40. Linfield and Willamette tied for fifth place, each earning 32 points as they look to make an impact this season.
Pacific Lutheran (26 points) and Puget Sound (23 points) finished in the middle of the pack, while Whitman rounded out the rankings with 8 points.
With George Fox aiming to extend its championship streak and several teams poised to compete for the top spot, the 2025 NWC women’s track & field season is set to be an exciting one. Competition begins this spring as teams gear up for the NWC Championships. The multi-event championship is scheduled for April 14-15 at George Fox University, with the Track & Field Championship set for April 26-27 at Lewis & Clark College.
