Baseball- Pitcher - Student-Athlete of the Week
Wyatt Adams I Pitcher I Whitman | SR | Seattle, Wash. | Bishop Blanchett
Senior pitcher Adams threw seven complete innings for a 9-1 win over Pacific Lutheran. He struck out seven, while allowing one run on three hits and issued just three walks. Adams helped the Blues to their first win of the season and eventually a 2-1 record at the NWC Round Robin.
Baseball- Player - Student-Athlete of the Week
Michael Aikawa I 3B I Lewis & Clark | SO | Piedmont, Calif. | Piedmont
Aikawa reached the first eight times he stepped to the plate to help lead Lewis & Clark to a doubleheader sweep of reigning NWC Tournament Champion Willamette University on Saturday. The sophomore third baseman went 6-7 with three doubles, two walks and a hit by pitch in a pair of 8-7 victories, He tacked on two runs, two RBI and a stolen base. Through five games, Aikawa leads the NWC with his .571 batting average. He's tied for first with 12 hits and second with a .640 on-base percentage.
