The Whitworth University Pirates have claimed the 2025 Northwest Conference (NWC) regular season title, finishing with an impressive 13-3 conference record and a 22-3 overall mark. As a result, the Pirates have secured the top seed and hosting rights for the NWC Men’s Basketball Tournament for the second consecutive year.
Joining Whitworth in the four-team tournament field are Pacific Lutheran University, Whitman College, and Lewis & Clark College. The Pacific Lutheran Lutes earned the No. 2 seed with an 11-5 conference record, followed closely by Whitman College at 10-6. Lewis & Clark College secured its first NWC tournament berth in a decade, rounding out the field as the No. 4 seed with a 9-7 record.
The NWC Men’s Basketball Tournament will take place from February 28 to March 1, with all games hosted at Whitworth University. The semifinal round will be held on Friday, February 28, beginning with a matchup between No. 2 Pacific Lutheran and No. 3 Whitman at 6:00 p.m. The top-seeded Whitworth Pirates will then face the No. 4 Lewis & Clark Pioneers at 8:00 p.m.
The tournament championship game is scheduled for Saturday, March 1, at 6:00 p.m., where the winners of the semifinal matchups will compete for the NWC Tournament title. The champion will receive the Northwest Conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
