Patti & Domingo Named NWC Swimming Student-Athletes of the Week

The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Swimming for the week of November 18th through November 24th.

Women’s Swimming - Student-Athlete of the Week

Gabbie Patti made major strides as a freshman over the weekend, posting record-breaking numbers at the Bruin Invite. Patti set the Northwest Conference record in the women’s 200-yard backstroke (2:01.93), breaking the previous mark of 2:02.10 set by Whitman’s Mara Selznick in 2017. The freshman also placed first in the 50-yard freestyle (1:54.95), the 200-yard freestyle (1:54.95), and the 200-yard individual medley (2:06.07), all of which stand as the top times in the conference this season. Patti won every individual event she entered, setting the pace for a first-place finish for the Bruin women’s team.

Domingo broke a 10-year old school record in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing in 1:52.37 at the Bruin Invitational, a time that's the fastest in the NWC this season. He finished the meet scoring 185 total points across seven events, finishing runner-up in the 200 free relay, 400 medley relay, and 100 backstroke. Placed third in the 200 IM, 200 medley relay, and the 400 free relay. His time in the 200 back is the fastest in the NWC this season.
