Women’s Basketball - Student-Athlete of the Week
Kaitlin Imai I G | Willamette | JR | Santa Cruz, Calif. | Scott Valley HS
Imai led Willamette to a 66-56 victory over George Fox by scoring 22 points, grabbing four rebounds, and earning three steals. She contributed to ten Bearcat points in a second quarter that saw Willamette turn a seven-point deficit into a three-point half-time lead on their way to sending the Bruins to only their second loss of the season.
Men’s Basketball - Student-Athlete of the Week
Samuel Stewart IV I G | George Fox | SR | San Diego, Calif. | Helix Charter
Stewart IV ended his break with a career weekend, setting several high marks in his time as a Bruin, nearly totaling a triple-double in each game. On Friday, he put up 23 points — the most points since his Grossmont College days — nine rebounds, and a career-high eight assists. The next game, against Linfield, Stewart IV set a new banner mark with nine assists while adding 19 points and seven boards. In conference play, The senior averaged 21.0 points, 8.5 assists, and 8.0 rebounds, while he averaged 14.6 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 5.4 rebounds per game over the break.
